Mt Vernon is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Mt Vernon is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Very nice batting cages πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘βšΎοΈ

I used to love this place. I had been coming with my son for about two years. However, recently they decided to completely change the balls they use to a version that is extremely rough on bats. You are much more likely to break your bat at these cages than used to be the case. Also, expect a lot of hand stinging even for reasonably well hit balls. I assume they changed the balls for cost reasons, but they completely ignored the impact on the customer when implementing this change. It’s very disappointing as I used to go Home Run City weekly throughout most of the year, but now I’m mostly focused on finding alternatives. Otherwise, the environment is clean and well-maintained. They have that still going for them.

The cages are better maintained and all of them worked when I went, which is vastly improved from what I can say about Turtle Cove in City Island. Each token will probably get you 15 pitches, not 20 as advertised. They have a large assortment of snacks, food, and drinks for purchase. Machine only takes cash for bating tokens. Better alternative destination for batting practice, if Turtle Cove has disappointed you, as it has for me.

There are very few places left to just go and hit baseballs and softballs from a machine. Home Run City is the best one I have found in lower Westchester. You can find a cage that meets your needs. If there is an issue, management is very interested in making it right. Rafael is very friendly and will help you if there is an issue.

Outdoor batting cages that had pretty accurate placement for pitches. Both fast machines were not working so hit in the medium cage. The time between pitches is short so you don't have much time to reset. Call ahead to get accurate hours as they adjust based on season. I saw the spring hours closing at 7pm. Price is reasonable on the batting cages. 9 sessions of 20 balls per session for $20. The slow machine also had accurate pitch placement. Bats and helmet available for rental if you don't have your own. Lots of fun for adults and kids.
